MapMyRun
As Lead UX Designer for web, I led alignment with our mobile design team, served as primary engineering partner, and managed components, assets, and our design library.
Project Goals
The MapMyRun web experience was lagging behind its parent brand, Under Armour, and the visual disconnect was impacting trust and brand loyalty. Users weren’t feeling the bridge between Under Armour and MapMyRun — the two identities still felt disjointed. Without this alignment, there was a risk of losing user confidence, reducing engagement, and undermining long-term loyalty.
Our mission: Update MapMyRun’s visual system and redesign key web pages to create a cohesive, modern experience that resonates with both existing users and the Under Armour brand world.

Brand guidelines
To kick things off, our design team ran a week-long virtual design studio focused on mobile. Each designer took a different screen to explore within a bold new brand palette (red, white, black) under the Under Armour umbrella. I handled the profile screen, iterated through multiple versions, and landed on a look that balanced bold, energized tones with simplicity and freshness.

Hi-fidelity Designs
With the visual direction locked in, I took the mobile component library and built out a robust web design system in Figma. Using these components, I redesigned the key pages of MapMyRun’s site — including the dashboard, route-creation flow, profile and stats screens, and logged-in home experience. The new UI elevated clarity, modernized the experience, and aligned tightly with the Under Armour brand tone.

Outcome
-
Unified brand experience across mobile + web — users clearly feel the Under Armour-MapMyRun connection.
-
Scalable component library enables faster iteration and consistent design across platforms.
-
A refreshed visual system that balances bold brand energy with user-friendly simplicity.
-
Redesigned user flows (e.g., route creation, stats view) that guide users more intuitively, increasing engagement and retention.
